Established in 1883, Burlington has a population of approximately 1,200 people and is situated in the beautiful Souris River Valley at the confluence of the Souris and Des Lacs Rivers.
Burlington and Des Lacs are a combined school system. Grades K-8 are in Burlington and 9-12 are bused to the high school in Des Lacs.

Old Settlers Park
The Park is licensed for 21 campers, with electric hook-ups and fire pits, paved roads, grassy areas and plenty of trees. The bathrooms have showers and covered picnic areas are available. The park has a handicap accessible playground, ball diamond, volleyball court and fishing in the Des Lacs River. The camp ground also has the “Old Settlers Association” Historic Monument, dedicated to the first settlers in this area.

There are 6.95 miles from Minot to Burlington in northwest direction and 8 miles (12.87 kilometers) by car, following the US-2 and US-52 and US-83 Bypass route.
Minot and Burlington are 12 minutes far apart, if you drive non-stop.
