Two gems of the Velva are the Velva City Park and Wildwood Parks. The City Park, located on 23 acres in the heart of the community, hosts picnic shelters, tennis and horseshoe courts with a walking bridge connecting to the recreation complex including softball, football and baseball fields, outdoor swimming pool and modern RV hookups. The park also features a myraid of playground equipment, shelters and kitchen with electricity and running water, bathrooms, grilling pits, and fresh running spring water.
